Next (General Public) Chapter Meeting:
Wednesday September 15th, 7pm at the Forum Hall in UTC / La Jolla.
The more the merrier and the public is welcome. You don't need to be a Surfrider member but it's always encouraged.
In a effort to kick off Coastal Cleanup Day and Tijuana River Action Month, this month's chapter meeting will focus on Beach Cleanups and Border Sewage and is honored to have Bob Scott give a presentation. Bob is a Professional Geologist and Certified Hydrogeologist at URS Corporation here in San Diego where he has been employed for over 20 years. He currently manages its local site assessment and remediation group and conducts work related to soil and groundwater contamination. He recently completed a study funded by the State for the Tijuana River Valley Recovery Team to identify the locations, quantity and characteristics of trash and sediment that gets transported downstream from Mexico during rain events. The information that his team has collected will help in developing a program to address this problem. He will speak at the September meeting to tell members about the results of the study and work that is currently being done in the valley related to trash and sediment.

From the 805, north or south:
Get off on the La Jolla Village Drive exit, and go west.

Forum Hall is located above the Wells Fargo branch and near the Nordstrom's store, approximately where the red star is on the map above.

Get off on the La Jolla Parkway exit, and go west.
This road will turn into Torrey Pines Blvd.
Follow Torrey Pines until it T's into Girard Avenue, and turn Left onto Girard.
At the first light, turn Right onto Pearl Street.
At the first light, turn Right onto Fay Avenue.
Our office is on the 5th Floor of the Gaines Investment Trust building on your left hand side, right across the street from the Vons Grocery store.
